All new range of sports cruisers with plenty of innovative features

Beneteau says the new Gran Turismo range is full of surprises. Many of the features on the new Gran Turismo 40 underline the balance the company is trying to achieve between the boat’s sporty character and the type of functionality you might expect for a luxurious yet practical on-board experience.

In creating this boat, Beneteau consulted designers Nuvolari and Lenard who are well known for designing Euro sport cruisers.

The French manufacturer has also made use of the latest innovations from its own motor boat design office, applying all the technological resources available, with a view to offering outstanding comfort as well as exceptional performance.

The new 40ft sports cruiser combines the protection of a hard-top boat and the open-air feeling with its retractable sunroof.

The electrically-operated side windows mean that the spacious cockpit can be opened up to accommodate up to twelve people. Or, with everything closed it acts as a main-deck saloon with dinette and galley module.

The cockpit seating can be converted into big sun-lounges that further add to the boat’s relaxation areas which include lounges with adjustable backrests on the foredeck.

Down aft, there’s a big swim platform with optional hydraulics.

Beneteau says the new Gran Turismo 40 is as pleasant to admire as it is to drive. To enhance both vision and comfort, Beneteau has centred the three-seater helm station. With the latest generation Air Step planing hull, this new sports cruiser offers sparkling performance with a top speed of around 35 knots.

The spacious saloon features a convertible dinette and large hull windows, and there’s a fully equipped galley below as well. Accommodation features two cabins with a big owner’s suite forward and spacious bathroom with separate shower stall.

Although no pricing had been announced at the time of writing we understand that the Gran Turismo 40 will be a very affordable boat for its size and level of luxury and convenience. Think in the region of $700K here. At that price, this is certainly a space worth watching.
